The name

The Craftsman.

Where the name comes from, and why it captures what we build.

The Craftsman

In Greek myth, Dolos was apprentice to Prometheus. The Titan set out to sculpt Truth herself — and, called away, left the work to his student. Dolos crafted a likeness so faithful that the master, returning, could barely tell the copy from the original.

It's a story about the power of a perfect likeness — and its responsibility. We took the name because we build likenesses too. The difference, and the whole point of our standard: we always tell you which one you're looking at. The craft is in the making; the integrity is in the labeling.
